Church Camp 2007

So, we've set up a page where you can few just a selection of the pictures we took this year at camp. Click here to see a sampling of what we did this year, and the general idea of Alsace Church Camp.

Peach Festival Follow-up
By Christian at August 20th, 2007, 11:33am in Senior Youth GroupThe Alsace Lutheran Church Peach Festival, held on Sunday, July 22nd, was a complete success! Those who attended the festival enjoyed a fun-filled and leisurely day, complete with excellent weather. There were games for kids, a fully stocked "White Elephant" sale, great music, prizes, and, most importantly, no shortage of incredible food!
The Peach Festival is the primary fund raiser for the Alsace Senior Youth Group. Its existence is fundamental in allowing the youth to hold many activities which bring its members closer to God and each other.
To that end, we are pleased to say the profit of this year's Peach Festival is $3,804.86. We would like to thank everyone who patronized us, all who freely donated goods and items, those who helped organize and run the festival, and, most importantly, our awesome God!
We hope to see you all next year!

24 Hour Famine
By Cindy at March 19th, 2007, 01:47pm in Senior Youth GroupOn Friday, March 16 through Saturday, March 17 the Senior Youth and Advisors participated in a 24-Hour Famine to raise money for World Vision. Even though we did have "juice breaks" and crackers around mealtime, we tried to imagine what it would be like not to have anything or very little to eat. The youth members took on the role of one of the children, including whether they were deaf, mute, cripped in some way, blind, etc. and participated on a number of "tribe" games. This was certainly an eye-opening experiece for both the youth and advisors who participated. The great news is that a total of $1200 was raised for World Vision.
