Social Ministry

Our Social Ministries Committee is dedicated to reaching out in love and compassion to those in need in a tangible way. We try to help meet some of the physical needs of those in our congregation and community when they are going through a difficult time. We do this to the best of our abilities and as our resources allow. For example, we help organize food and clothing drives throughout the year and sponsor an "Angel Tree Program" at Christmas time to give gifts to needy children who might not otherwise get one.

Also, from time to time, we will "adopt" a needy family, such as a single mother with small children, etc. and try to help them meet immediate needs such as food, clothing and shelter. We then will try to help them plan for their long term needs such as a place to live, job training and child care. As we are doing this we will also share with them the "Gospel of Jesus Christ" so they may develop their own personal relationship with God so that not only will their immediate needs be met, but more importantly, they may have eternal security as well.

We praise God for all His blessings in providing us the opportunity to do this and we thank our congregation for their generosity in donating the means of our outreach. The power of the Holy Spirit is truly abundant at Alsace!

The Media Ministry was formed specifically to reach the unchurched in our community with the life changing Gospel of Jesus Christ and to persuade them to join the fellowship of believers at Alsace Lutheran Church. We are using as many available media outlets as we can including TV, radio, newspaper and the internet. We are dedicated to using every means possible to reach as many people as possible so as to obey Christ's Great Commission to carry the Gospel to all the world.
