A word from our pastor to keep our congregation informed

Greetings in the Name of our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

"Our purpose as a church is to glorify God and carry out Christ's Great Commission by reaching out to all people and bringing them to a saving faith in Jesus Christ.

"Prior to His ascension, Jesus gave His disciples the command to "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 28:19 NRSV) I would like to remind you of the importance of your witness for Christ. The well-equipped and prepared Christian is one ready to share the Gospel of God's love.

"Our witness should also tell others about heaven, and yes, warn against hell and the great importance to avoid going there. The other day I saw this message in a signboard of a church: "Catch this 'Son' so you will not burn!" Clever slogan!

"Our witnessing also needs to emphasize that we do not experience the gift of salvation because of anything we have done to merit it. No, rather salvation is received simply as a gift of God's grace. We believe that our sins have been washed away in the blood of Jesus and that heaven, someday will become our eternal home! We have a wonderful Saviour!

"Many Alsace members take their Christian witnessing seriously. The faith is shared with others in the workplace, on the college campus, at the Senior neighborhood center, on the city sidewalk, and on the tennis court or golf course. Evangelism takes place when believers share with non-believers in their normal, everyday social contexts.

"I am excited and enthused about the mission of Alsace church. There is a strong commitment to reach the unchurched in Reading and Berks with the life changing Gospel. I fully believe that the Christian church today is sitting on the edge of one of the most incredible opportunities for evangelism. What God is looking for is people who will be equipped and prepared, and then trust and depend upon His guidance in order to bring others to a saving faith in Jesus Christ.

"I thank you for your wonderful support and for the vital part you have with others at Alsace in fulfilling our Lord's command to "Go into all the world" and "Make disciples."
