Christian Worship

Our Sunday morning worship services are held each week at 8:15 and 10:45. The "Alsace Lutheran Hour" is broadcast every Sunday morning at our 8:15 service on radio station WKAP (1340 AM).

Sacraments

At Alsace Lutheran Church, we take the Sacrament of Holy Communion* seriously and ask that before you approach the altar to partake of the cleansing body and blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, you follow the biblical directive to repent of all known sin and make amends of any differences you may have with your brothers and sisters in Christ. The Sacrament of the Lord's Table is celebrated on the following dates throughout the year.

  • The First Sunday of the New Year
  • Ash Wednesday
  • First Sunday in Lent
  • Holy Week
  • Easter Sunday
  • Trinity Sunday
  • Mid-Summer Sunday
  • World Communion Sunday (October)
  • First Sunday in Advent

* All Communion services are held at 8:00 and 10:45 A.M. as well as a special 4:00 afternoon service.

Alsace Lutheran Hour

The Alsace Lutheran Hour is broadcast each Sunday morning over Reading radio station WKAP (1340 AM) for one hour beginning at 8:15 A.M. (8:00 on communion Sundays). God put Alsace "on the air" in 1959 under the leadership of Dr. Lester E. Fetter, one of our former pastors. It continued to grow during the tenure of Pastor Charles E. Fair and is still going strong under our current Senior Pastor, Mark E. Brophy.

Many members have joined our church as a result of the radio ministry. Visitors join us almost every Sunday because of the radio outreach, and hundreds of shut-ins and homebound souls tune in each week to hear Alsace go "on the air" with our theme song, "Rise Ye Children of Salvation".
